What if your company goes out of business?

Every legacy letter has a backup copy stored in escrow with a partner law firm. We also maintain encrypted digital backups in geographically redundant cloud storage. Your letters outlast us.

How do you confirm addresses over decades?

Every January, we send automated confirmation emails to every active customer (and trustees for legacy letters) with a one-click address update. This is our most critical operational process.

How do you verify someone has passed away?

For legacy letters, you designate 1–2 trusted contacts (trustees) at sign-up. When they notify us with an obituary or death certificate, we release the letters. Trustees receive annual reminders.

Can I update or cancel a letter?

Yes. You have full control over your letters until they're delivered. Update the content, change the delivery date, change the recipient, or cancel entirely at any time through your account.

Do you read my letters?

Never. Your letters are sealed and stored without being read by anyone. Digital backups are encrypted with AES-256. Our privacy policy explicitly states: your content is never accessed, sold, or shared.

What paper and materials do you use?

All letters are preserved on acid-free, lignin-free paper meeting ISO 9706 archival standards — the same standard used by the Smithsonian. Stored at 65°F and 40% relative humidity.
